Some people find their way to Chinese medicine. I was born into it.

My parents were both Doctors of Acupuncture. Growing up in Palm Springs in the early 1980s, they ran one of the first health food stores in the desert — long before wellness was a trend or a hashtag. Our home was filled with herbs, whole foods, and the belief that the body, given the right support, knows how to heal itself.

That belief has shaped everything I do.

I’ve been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture in Los Angeles for 16 years. In that time I’ve sat across from hundreds of women navigating fertility challenges, hormone imbalances, painful cycles, and the emotional weight that comes with all of it. I’ve watched what happens when someone stops chasing a quick fix and starts truly nourishing their body instead. The shifts are real, measurable, and they’re lasting.

My approach goes beyond the needles. I look at the whole picture, from your cycle, your stress, your sleep, what you’re eating, what you’re putting on your skin, to what’s under your kitchen sink. Environmental toxins are one of the most under addressed factors in reproductive health, and it’s something I’m deeply passionate about educating my patients on. Preparing your body for fertility — or for any kind of healing — means looking at everything!

My background is a little unconventional, and I think that’s why it works.

At six years old my father — Dr. Jacques MoraMarco, Academic Dean of Emperor’s College — began teaching me Chinese Martial Arts, including Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Alongside that I became a competitive figure skater, training at the Ice Castle International Training Center in Lake Arrowhead and ultimately completing the Gold Medal Senior Level test of the USFSA. It was there, in the world of elite athletic training, that I experienced firsthand what acupuncture and herbal medicine could do for injury prevention and recovery.

That early experience of the body as something to train, nourish, and care for — not just fix when it breaks — became the foundation of my clinical philosophy.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) magna cum laude from California State University Northridge, then went on to complete my Masters and Doctorate in Traditional East Asian Medicine summa cum laude at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica. My clinical internships included rotations at UCLA’s Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center, the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, and the Being Alive Community Clinic in West Hollywood. My doctoral capstone was a review of Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea — which tells you something about where my heart has always been.

Beyond the clinic, I’m also the founder of Love Cupping www.lovecupping.com — the world’s first heart-shaped cupping therapy kit, now patented in approximately 30 countries and sold internationally. The Love Cups were featured in Katy Perry’s music video Never Really Over, and a portion of every sale supports stateless Thai youth pursuing higher education. Creating Love Cupping was my way of bringing an ancient healing practice to a wider audience — making it accessible, beautiful, and something people actually want to talk about.

I take a limited number of patients and program clients because I believe in doing this work with full presence and care. If you’re ready to take a real, root-cause approach to your fertility and your health — I’d love to work with you!

Kara is amazing! The first time I called her she could sense what an emergency it was that I was having and got me in right away, listened very carefully to what’s going on, and quickly formulated a plan and did her acupuncture treatment accordingly and I felt like a million bucks after leaving! I’m now a regular! : thanks for all the help Kara!
